Welcome dog and cat lovers! My name is Roger L. Welton, DVM, licensed veterinarian and author of "Canine and Feline 101: A Complete Guide For Selecting, Training, and Caring for Dogs and Cats" (click on book picture for preview). I specialize in canine and feline general medicine and surgery. I created this veterinary advice web site because one of my favorite aspects of my job is client education. Of course, I entered this profession for the animals, but let's face it - without the people that love the animals, veterinary medicine would not be as advanced as it is today, not to mention, it wouldn't be nearly as rewarding. In my years of working as a small animal practitioner, I have, and will continue to experience the joy of improving the lives of my furry patients, while, as a result, improving the lives of those special people that love them.

Dr. Roger L. Welton graduated from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine, in the British West Indies. As mandated by Ross University, Dr. Welton completed one full year of clinical training at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital. Dr. Welton subsequently completed preceptorships in the fields of canine and feline orthopedic surgery and medical oncology at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in Mahattan, NY.
Dr. Welton is currently an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and practices top level general medicine and surgery in his state of the art two doctor practice, Maybeck Animal Hospital, located in West Melbourne, Florida.
